Helga Zepp-LaRouche holds the EIR Special Report, The New Silk Road Becomes the World Land-Bridge..

(EIRNS)--An article in the U.S.-based Chinese-language paper, The China Press, covers the work of Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche over the past twenty years in her pursuit of developing the New Silk Road. China Press correspondent Guan Liming interviewed Mrs, Zepp-LaRouche after the New York symposium on June 6 to discuss her work and the work of the Schiller Institute. The article also notes the life-long work of her husband, economist and statesman Lyndon H. LaRouche,Jr., who, Guan notes, has been quite well known through the years in China, referencing in particular LaRouche's warnings in 2007 of an oncoming financial crisis. Guan also refers to LaRouche's eight-fold run for the U.S. presidential nomination.

Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche talks of her work in promoting the Silk Road project since the early 1990s. While she would not say definitively that the idea originated with the Schiller Institute proposal, she says that it has definitely been the force that has most doggedly pursued the idea through the years--she herself presenting the concept at hundreds of conferences all over the world. The article underlines the fact that it is the Schiller Institute's view that only a successful realization of this project would serve to turn the world away from the ongoing political crises that are presently bringing us to the brink of a thermonuclear war. The reporter also reiterates the theme of the New York event: that we must change the policy of the United States away from its present exclusionist “regionalism,” to a policy of working together with the BRICS nations and others in working to resolve the serious economic and social crises facing now facing mankind. The article notes also the collaboration between the Schiller Institute and leading Chinese scholars in the 1996 Beijing conference and the subsequent EIR report on the conference, “The Eurasian Landbridge: A New Silk Road,” and illustrates the article  with a very nice picture of a beaming Helga Zepp-LaRouche holding the original report.

The article also reports on Bob Ingraham's presentation at the symposium on Alexander Hamilton and his fight with the Virginia slavocracy. The article references Ingraham's comments on Hamilton's view that only a successful fight against the slavocracy would serve to preserve the ideals on which the republic was founded
